Each year, in early December, the Cambodia International Film Festival (CIFF) takes place in Phnom Penh for six consecutive days of film celebration gathering thousands of young Cambodians as well as foreigners in theatres. The program usually highlights movies made in or about Cambodia but also a selection of films from the world in diverse formats - short and long fictions, documentaries, animation
The goal of the festival is not only to present other cultures, and exchange ideas but also to be a crossroad for young and more experienced film professionals to expose their work.
All the movies are screened in Phnom Penh’s best cinemas (Sorya Mall Cineplex, Legend Cinema, French Institute and Bophana Center...) as well as outdoor venues (such as Koh Pich). This remarkable event strictly follows the guidelines set since the first edition, which are organizing screenings free of charge and promoting an unconditional respect of copyright.
