The Cambodia International Film Festival is the most significant and important film event in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Every year the event features more prominent pictures and hosts authors from Cambodia and abroad. CIFF is aimed at sensitizing people to the art of cinema, discover innovative filmmaking in various forms and present quality production made in Cambodia by national and international filmmakers.
The purpose of this festival is to present different cultures, exchange of ideas, as well as presentation and promotion of film art in its diverse forms. The 2012 CIFF will feature festival screening in and outdoor. There will also be other events accompanying the festival. The character of the festival makes room for variety of forms - feature films, documentaries, and animation films.
The event takes place in the best venues around Phnom Penh including the Bophana Center, the Cinema of the French Institute, the Sorya Mall Cineplex, and the Legend Cinema. Outdoor venues will host screenings in the most lively parts of Phnom Penh.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to directors, filmmakers, and producers of presented films from Cambodia and abroad, as well as other well-known representatives of the film and media industry. The oversight over the festival is held by some major national media, from where we also notice a growing interest in the event and consequently their participants
The Bophana Center and the Cambodia Film Commission are the official organizers of this remarkable event that strictly follows the guidelines set since the first edition, which are organizing screenings free of charge and promoting an unconditional respect of copyright.
